Horse riding lessons - price list 2024

Our mission

There are only a few sports that allow you to enjoy great exercise, contact with a magnificent animal and time amongst nature.

In our stables we have horses suitable for both beginners and advanced riders. Under the supervision of an instructor, you can hone your skills in the outside riding arena or, during less sunny days, in the indoor riding arena. For those who have already taken the first steps in horsemanship, there are beautiful, vast landscapes where our rides provide great excitement and impressive views.

Meet our instructors

All of our horse riding instructors are fully qualified and have a wealth of experience in teaching both children and adults.
Four of our instructors are able to lead the lessons in English.

We take great care to ensure our guests’ safety and to offer a quality horse riding experience. We work with small groups and horses are matched individually to each rider.

ABC of horse riding

Each person arranging the riding lessons declares that have read the regulations of the Galiny Stud, accept them and will obey them. Regulations are available in the stable as well as in the reception.

Horse riding requires preparation like any other sport. Below we explain how your first riding lesson will look, its duration and also what you should wear to feel comfortable and safe. Good preparation will help to ensure that you have many happy memories to take home with you…

What does the first riding lesson look like?

Your first lesson lasts no more than 30 minutes and is performed on a lunge line (a long line/lead rope held by the instructor). The horse walks on a circle around the instructor who controls the horse’s speed and direction with their voice and gentle encouragement from a long whip. After a short warm-up on the back of the horse, the rider learns how to gain balance in the saddle, how to sit correctly and how to interact with the horse at walk and trot.
We always choose very calm horses for the first lessons, properly trained and properly matched for age, height and rider skills and type of training.

How to prepare for your first lesson

What to wear

It’s best to wear comfortable clothing which you don’t mind getting dirty!

  • Trousers: If, understandably, you don’t have jodhpurs or breeches, then tracksuit bottoms or leggings will be perfect. Generally you should avoid trousers that are stiff or which have thick seams on the legs i.e: jeans, corduroys. Trousers must meet two requirements: to be long and to allow easy movement.
  • Boots: first of all, you must have full shoes or boots! Even in the summer we do not allow sandals or flip flops for reasons of safety. Shoes should come above the ankle and have hard soles with a definite small heel to them (sneakers or running shoes are not suitable). Wellington boots can be suitable as they are safe, quite comfortable and a good height.
  • Top: When choosing what to wear on your top half, you should take a few things into account. First, the outfit must fit to the body – we do not recommend to go horse riding in fluttering jackets and loose or oversized shirts. The instructor needs to see how the student sits and holds their back and shoulders, etc. Secondly, the outfit must be silent, meaning that it does not rustle in such a way as to distract or frighten the horse. Thirdly, your outfit must be comfortable allowing freedom of movement.

Riding equipment

Our riding school provides appropriate helmets and chaps.
